Cortex Remote works locally on your iPad. No app account, advertising or developer-operated analytics is required.
Who is responsible
Cortex Remote is developed by IOTA Lab. For privacy questions or requests, contact jk8tge@iotalab.biz.
Data on your device
The app stores your MIDI configuration, endpoint selections, local preset and setlist names, scene and Stomp names, Favorites, panel layout, language and other preferences on your device. It also keeps local recovery snapshots for configuration imports. MIDI input is processed locally to update the controls and a limited Activity history.
MIDI commands are sent to the endpoints you select. This is the app’s controller function; the app does not upload your performance or settings to an IOTA Lab server. It contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
Names Editor website
The Names Editor processes chosen JSON files in your browser. We do not upload their contents to a server. The editor stores your working full backup, including names, settings and endpoint names, in IndexedDB on that browser, and remembers the interface language in localStorage. Use Clear local draft to delete the saved backup, or clear this website’s browser data. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them. Avoid leaving drafts on shared computers. No analytics, accounts or third-party scripts are used by the editor. Netlify receives ordinary website requests as described below.
Files you choose to export or share
Settings export and diagnostic sharing happen only when you initiate them. A settings backup can contain your local names, Favorites, configuration and endpoint names. Review it before sharing. Files and sharing services handle exported information according to the destination you choose and its own policies.
Diagnostic reports can be previewed before sharing. They omit preset names, full configuration contents, device identifiers, serial numbers and system uptime. Endpoint names are excluded unless you enable that option. Diagnostics are not automatically sent to IOTA Lab.
Support requests
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any files you attach. We use these to answer your request and investigate problems. Our email provider processes those messages to deliver and store them. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising. We retain support correspondence as needed to handle the request, maintain relevant support records and meet applicable obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing us; applicable legal requirements may affect what can be deleted.
Backups and deletion
Deleting the app removes its local app data from that installation. Exported files, emails and system backups may remain elsewhere; manage them through the service or device where they are stored. Device backup services may include app data according to your system settings. The app does not provide its own cloud account or synchronization service.
Apple and TestFlight
Apple may process installation, crash, diagnostic or beta-testing information under its own policies and your settings. During TestFlight testing, Apple may make beta feedback and diagnostics available to us. We use those reports to investigate issues and improve the app. See Apple’s privacy information.
This website
These Cortex Remote pages are hosted by Netlify. We do not add analytics scripts, tracking pixels or advertising to this product section. Netlify processes website requests and may retain technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the website. This is separate from the JSON files and drafts processed locally by the Names Editor; their contents are not uploaded. See Netlify’s Privacy Policy. Opening external links or email uses the relevant service’s privacy practices.
Policy updates
We will update this page if the app’s data practices change and revise the effective date above. For questions, contact jk8tge@iotalab.biz.
